A free public page for each shop on the Sixpence registry. A girl picks her school, types the style number, and sees whether someone from her school has already registered that dress at the shop, and in which colors. It never shows who has a dress. The shop turns it on when it wants to and gets the link, a QR code, a printable counter sign, and a caption to share it.

Is the Sixpence prom registry really free?

Yes. The registry is free permanently, with unlimited dresses, schools, and seasons, and it needs no card. The paid product is the rest of Sixpence (register, booking, special orders, texting, reports), available as a 14-day trial from inside the registry. A shop that doesn't keep the trial drops back to the free registry with every dress intact.

How do you look up a school?

One search box covers about 26,000 US high schools from the federal school directory. The shop's own state is ranked first, every result shows its town so schools with the same name stay distinct, and schools the shop has used before lead the list. A school that isn't listed can be typed in.

Does the registry work across different shops in the same town?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Today it catches duplicates within one shop. A shared, opt-in registry between shops is planned, and it depends on enough shops using the free registry first.

What information about the girl is stored?

Accepted Answer

A first name, an optional last name, her school, the dance and year, and the dress. There is no phone number, size, photo, or birthday field. Only the shop's own staff can see the registry. If the shop turns on its "Is my dress taken?" page, that page answers only whether a style is taken, never with a name.
